Ultra-Orthodox Jewish College Students are Creationists

Skeptic Vol 13, Nov 3, 2006 reports a study where 176 ultra-orthodox jewish students of a New York City public college were surveyed about their attitudes on evolution and other scientific issues. Their breakdown by highest degree attained was:

51 of the 176 students already held a science degree or were majoring in a science area.

8% believed that evolution correctly explains the origin of life.
90% believed that current land animals descended from Noah's ark.
13% students believed that the sun revolves around the earth.

Are these students simply incorrect or are they actually delusional in the clinical sense?
